kelle Client HomeSetting up Skelle
About five minutes in a 2×1 or a crawl hole. Once Skelle is installed, every step is a green button in chat: press T to open chat and click it. You never have to type a command, but each step shows the one it runs if you would rather.
Your farm
Setup is the same in both. What differs is where the spawners go when Skelle packs up.
2×1 standing hole
A hole one block wide and two tall that you stand in, with spawners in its walls, floor or ceiling.
- Where to be
- Stand in the hole and look at your spawners when you scan.
- Ender Chest
- Put an Ender Chest in the wall beside you at foot height, with glass or a slab on top: Minecraft won't open an Ender Chest with a solid block above it, and neither can Skelle. The scan finds it by itself.
- When a stranger turns up
- Mines every pile, banks them into the Ender Chest, carries out anything that won't fit, and logs out. An Ender Chest survives both logging out and dying.
- Worth knowing
- Without an Ender Chest, a pack-up carries what fits in your inventory, about 2,240 spawners from empty, and logs out. Keep your inventory clear either way.
Crawl hole
A hole one block tall that you crawl in, with spawners in front of you.
- Where to be
- Crawl in and face your spawners when you scan.
- Ender Chest
- There is no room for an Ender Chest, and that is fine. Chat says so when you scan, and that a pack-up will carry what fits in your inventory.
- When a stranger turns up
- Mines every pile into your inventory, which survives logging out, and logs out. About 2,240 spawners fit in an empty inventory, so keep it clear.
- Worth knowing
- Dug into bedrock, nobody can reach you, and Skelle knows it: somebody standing right outside does not stop the pack-up. In ordinary stone, a stranger close enough to dig to you makes it stop and leave with what it has already mined.

Step by step

Install Skelle
Skelle is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11. Install Fabric Loader, then drop the Skelle jar from your dashboard into your launcher profile's mods folder. Every plan uses the same file.
Minecraft starts and the top right of the title screen says Skelle Client.
- 2
Enter your licence key
Skelle asks for your key the first time it starts. Sign in to skelleclient.com with Discord, create a key on your dashboard and paste it in. The key locks to this PC, so you only type it once: every Minecraft profile on the same computer unlocks by itself after that.
The key screen closes and Skelle stops asking.
- 3
Put a Silk Touch pickaxe in your hotbar
Mining a spawner without Silk Touch destroys it, so Skelle checks the pickaxe before every swing and never mines without one. It only uses your hotbar, not your main inventory. A diamond or netherite pickaxe with Efficiency V is the fastest.
A Silk Touch pickaxe is in one of your nine hotbar slots.
- 4
Get in your hole and scan it
Join the server and get into your hole the way you always do: standing in a 2×1, or crawling in a crawl hole. Face your spawners. A few seconds after you join, Skelle puts a button in chat. Press T to open chat and click Scan my farm. Skelle finds every spawner touching the space you are in, stopping at walls, and makes each one glow.
Welcome to Skelle. It isn't guarding yet. Stand in your farm, where this account will guard from (inside the hole, facing your spawners), then click:
[Scan my farm][Show all steps]

/ap setup scanEvery spawner in your hole glows.

Check what glows, then save it
What glows is exactly what Skelle will mine when a stranger turns up. A spawner shows nobody's name, so Skelle cannot tell whose is whose: this look is the only check there is. If every glowing spawner is yours, click It's all mine, save it. If something is wrong, move, then click Scan again.
Skelle found 6 piles, 1 Ender Chest, with walls on every side.
Setup 2/5: What glows is what Skelle will mine when a stranger arrives, and anything glowing that isn't yours will end up in your Ender Chest. Skelle can't tell whose spawners are whose, so look: only save it if it's all yours.
[It's all mine, save it][Scan again]

/ap setup confirmChat says Farm saved, with how many piles it found.

Answer the home question
After a server restart drops you somewhere else, Skelle can type your home command to get back. If you have a home set inside your hole, step a few blocks out of it and click Test /home 1: Skelle runs it, shows where you landed, and you click Yes, use it. If you don't use a home, click I don't use a home. That is a normal answer: after a restart Skelle simply waits where it lands. A different home command: type /ap setup home set followed by it, for example /ap setup home set home farm.
Farm saved — 6 pile(s), banked into the Ender Chest beside you. If a new spawner ever appears, Skelle won't arm until you look and save again.
Setup 3/5: Does /home 1 bring you back here after a restart? Step a few blocks away, then test it.
[Test /home 1][I don't use a home]
Rather type it?
/ap setup home noneChat says Setup 4/5: Everything is ready.

Turn Skelle on
Click Turn Skelle on. Skelle opens each pile's menu once to count your spawners, then arms. From then on, anybody who isn't on your whitelist makes it mine your spawners, bank what it can and log out. Add friends first so a visit doesn't set it off: /ap whitelist add followed by their name. To switch Skelle off, type /ap disable or use the switch in the settings panel (right shift).
No home command. That is fine: after a restart Skelle waits where it lands.
Setup 4/5: Everything is ready.

Build a shell
If Skelle warns that a pack-up may not be fast enough
A pack-up takes roughly a second for every 80 spawners with a fast pickaxe. Somebody walking up from the edge of view reaches an unwalled farm in about eight seconds, so if yours would take longer, Skelle warns you when it arms, with the numbers. That can happen in a 2×1 hole too, once its piles are big. The fix is an obsidian shell around the space you guard from: Skelle watches it and starts packing up as soon as someone breaks into it, and every layer of obsidian costs an attacker about a second and a half. Scan and save your farm again after building it.
Commands worth knowing
The settings panel opens with right shift. Everything else is here, or in /ap help.
/ap setup | Every setup step, what is done and what is next, with buttons. |
/ap setup scan | Scans the space you are standing in and makes your spawners glow. |
/ap setup confirm | Saves what glows as your farm. |
/ap enable | Turns Skelle on. It counts your piles, then guards. |
/ap disable | Turns Skelle off. It will not arm, trigger or mine. |
/ap status | Whether it is guarding right now, and if not, why. |
/ap whitelist add | Followed by a name: somebody who never sets it off. |
/ap help | Every command there is. |
Skelle refused. What now?
Skelle refuses rather than guessing, because guessing wrong at a spawner farm is expensive. Every refusal below is the exact wording you will see in game.
- “…no Silk Touch pickaxe in your hotbar…”
- Skelle will not mine a spawner without Silk Touch, because that destroys it. It only looks in your hotbar, so a pickaxe in your main inventory does not count.
- Fix: Move a Silk Touch pickaxe into one of your nine hotbar slots and turn Skelle on again.
- “…no spawners touch the space you scanned from…”
- The scan fills the space you are standing in and takes the spawners touching it. None did, so you were probably just outside your hole.
- Fix: Get right into the hole, face your spawners, and click Scan my farm again.
- “…you are not standing on your farm's spot…”
- Every spawner Skelle guards was measured as reachable from where you scanned. Standing somewhere else means some of them are not.
- Fix: Get back into the hole where you scanned from, or scan again from where you are.
- “…your farm has changed since you confirmed it…”
- Skelle checks your farm again every time it arms. Either it has more open air than when you saved it — a wall has been opened, or spawners have been mined — or there is a spawner that was not there before. Skelle cannot tell whose spawners are whose; the only check is you looking at the glow, so it will not arm until you look again.
- Fix: Get in the hole, run /ap setup scan, check what glows, and save it again.
- “…has not yet confirmed it is on your server…”
- Skelle has not confirmed yet that it is really on your server with your farm present. It holds rather than arming into a world it cannot see properly.
- Fix: Wait. It clears on its own, usually within a minute of joining.
- “…there is no Ender Chest at…”
- The block Skelle was told to bank into is not an Ender Chest any more.
- Fix: Put one back where it was, or scan and save again to use a different one.
- “…has not loaded yet…”
- Your Ender Chest is in a chunk Minecraft has not loaded. Skelle refuses rather than assuming it is still there.
- Fix: Wait a few seconds, or stand closer to it, and turn Skelle on again.
- “…Skelle packed this farm up and has locked itself out…”
- A pack-up ran. Afterwards Skelle stays locked out until you have looked at the farm, so it never logs back in to a farm somebody may still be raiding. The next time you join, chat says what the pack-up did while you were away.
- Fix: Check the farm, put your spawners back, then run /ap unlock confirm and /ap enable.
- “…paid protection will not run with a Java agent or debugger attached…”
- Your launcher, or a tool on your PC, attaches extra code to Minecraft as it starts. Skelle will not unlock beside code that could read it. The Modrinth App's own is allowed; most launchers add none at all.
- Fix: Use the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or the official Minecraft Launcher with Fabric. If you need your launcher, tell us its name in our Discord and we will look at it.
- “…an active Skelle plan is required…”
- The Skelle server answered and said this licence has no active plan. This is not an outage — it is a subscription that has lapsed, been cancelled or been charged back.
- Fix: Check your subscription on your dashboard. Guarding resumes within a minute of paying.
- “…Skelle cannot reach the Skelle server…”
- Our server is unreachable. Nothing is wrong with your licence or your payment, and your farm keeps being guarded while we are down.
- Fix: Nothing. Skelle carries on for up to 72 hours and tells you when it is back.
- “…payment did not go through…”
- A card payment failed. Your farm stays guarded for 72 hours from then. If the payment still has not gone through, Skelle packs your farm up into your Ender Chest and logs out rather than leaving it standing unguarded — but only while Minecraft is running.
- Fix: Update your card on the dashboard within the 72 hours.
What your plan changes
Setting up is the same on every plan. What differs is how many accounts you can guard and how much one run can carry.
| Plan | Accounts | One run carries |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | 1 | Ender Chest, then whatever fits in the inventory |
| Full | 4 | Ender Chest, inventory, and shulker boxes for the overflow |
| Lifetime | 6 | Ender Chest, inventory, and shulker boxes for the overflow |
Bigger farms
A room, an obsidian box, or more than one account. The steps above are the same; these are the extras.
Scanning a room
The scan works the same in a room: stand where the account will wait, in the space your spawners face, and it takes every spawner touching that space, stopping at walls. An Ender Chest in the space is the one it banks into. Every time it arms it checks the farm again, and if it finds more — a new spawner, or more open space — it will not arm until you scan, look and save again. If the scan gets an unusual base wrong, Advanced in the settings panel lets you mark the corners by hand.
Shulker boxes
On Full and Lifetime, Skelle packs what will not fit into shulker boxes. It needs one free block of floor in the room to place them on, and says so when you save if there is none.
Two accounts on one farm
Two of your accounts may guard the same farm. Whichever is there packs it, and when both are, they split the piles rather than mining the same ones, if they run on the same PC. On two different PCs they cannot see each other and may both go for the same piles; nothing is lost, since each banks into its own Ender Chest.
Being reached during a pack-up
If somebody gets to the account and hits it, it cannot log out for 20 seconds — a logout then is a death — so with an Ender Chest it banks everything it carries and waits, and dying after that loses nothing. With no chest there is nowhere to put it: anyone who keeps hitting the account can take what it is carrying.
Discord alerts — optional
Skelle can tell you on Discord when somebody turns up, when a pack-up starts and how it finished. It guards exactly the same without it. To set it up, create a bot, paste its token into the Socials page of the settings panel, and press the button that makes the channels for you.
Still stuck?
Ask in our Discord. Bring the exact wording of what Skelle told you — it names the cause, so it is usually the whole answer.
